SV Blake, Our 2016 Dufour 382 is For Sale

It's with a full and grateful heart, that we share that our beloved sailboat is officially up for sale. This was our plan all along, taking a sixteen month sabbatical and selling her, as there is no suitable place to safely keep her where we live in Hawaii, nor do we want to sail her there ourselves. As with any monumental life chapter, we will be sad for this time aboard to end, it's definitely bittersweet. Since moving aboard full time last September in Corsica, she has safely carried us over 7,500nm to over twelve different countries! She is ready to carry someone else, or a new family, thousands of more miles. We recently hauled out in Cancun in May, and did a full bottom job with new anti-fouling.

We made a lot of ocean voyaging additions to her in France before we left for the Canary Islands, including new bowsprit to support a Elvstrom Code 0 with Facnor furler, and a new orange asymmetric spinnaker. We also equipped her with a new Schenker Zen30 12V water maker and Dometic 55L 12V freezer; two very coveted and highly used assets, especially for the Atlantic crossing. The water maker has been such a gift in allowing us to stay out on anchor in more remote areas, and for longer periods of time, being self sustaining without needing a marina. We run it off the solar power we get from the 730Watt SunPower solar array on the bimini. We also converted the head to a new, electric Saniflo marine toilet.

As we needed to be ARC Rally safety compliant, and with Lyall being an ex World Cruising safety inspector, she is fully kitted out with enhanced safety equipment appropriate for offshore sailing. Eight-man life raft, flares, throw lines, jack lines, AIS, searchlight, grab bag, EPIRB, fire extinguishers, smoke and CO2 alarms, etc. Safety first!

Hoping to find her new owners who will keep sailing her and not just have her sit at a dock. If any of you know of anyone looking for a modern blue water cruiser, please have them contact us directly. Here is the link to the listing with YachtWorld.

We will be in Puerto Morelos, Mexico until the end of the year in Marina El Cid, living aboard unless she sells, at which point we will rent a place until the girls finish school in December. Lyall will be at the Annapolis boat show, not exhibiting, but ready to connect with any of you about buying Blake or your solar needs. Reach out to him directly if you want to meet up. Wishing you all a beautiful fall equinox! Thank you in advance to anyone who shares this with friends or family looking for a floating home, we're so grateful to be connected to so many sailors!

Aloha,

Katie and Lyall
