Who is E-Lektra Marine?

Exciting news in April 2026 at the International Multihull Show with Groupe Beneteau and Fountaine Pajot launching a 50/50 joint venture called E-Lektra Marine. Formed by two of the world's largest sailboat manufacturers they aim to standardize electric propulsion and energy management systems aboard.
E-Lektra aims to bring electric propulsion to 10% - 15% of the entire global sailing market by 2030
E-Lektra will develop solutions tailored specifically for cruising sailboats ranging from 9m to 24m (29ft to 80ft) in length. Their systems support both new boat builds and more importantly (in my opinion) aftermarket retrofits to existing boats through three primary setups:
Full-electric propulsion
Low-voltage hybrid configurations
High-voltage hybrid configurations
E-Lektra will be a common industrial platform for electrification on yachts from 9m to 24m (29ft to 80 ft)
E-Lektra will operate out of France and represent 7 of the largest boat brands, that's around 60% of the global market:
Beneteau
Dufour
Excess
Fountaine Pajot Sailing Catamarans
Fountaine Pajot Yachts
Jeanneau
Lagoon Catamarans
What a win for the boating industry & community as a whole, a real collaboration and move forward towards electrification and renewables aboard new & used sailboats. It's a model open to all market players to reach critical mass and make these solutions simple and more competitive.
