For the 2025 season Sun Powered Yachts has come onboard as a sponsor for Waiki'i Polo based right here on the Big Island of Hawai'i. With an incredible location set in the Western foothills of Mauna Kea the polo field is at an elevation of around 4,500ft, they don't call it 'polo in the clouds' for nothing! Fortunately, we enjoyed some incredible polo, weather (and local brews) this past weekend at the 'Battle of the Brews' sponsored by the local brewery Big Island Brewhaus
The season runs for around 8 weeks in October, November, December and includes polo matches on Sundays for all ages and levels of experience. The last few matches of the season include some prestigious USPA events including the Sportsmanship Cup, Wahine Cup & Master's Cup.

The kids enjoyed the 'divot stomp', a tradition where spectators can walk onto the playing field during halftime to press the loose turf back into place that the horses' hooves have torn up, and meeting the polo ponies & young riders. With some pretty chill tailgating, food trucks available, cold beers, the whole family enjoyed the afternoon at Waiki'i Ranch, and we look forward to our next afternoon at the polo.
Update November 30th
We made it for another trip to see some polo on the long Thanksgiving weekend and rallied some friends from the Hilo side of the island to come watch some polo. It was an all ladies day on the field with the USPA Wahine Challenge 2025 Cup. 3 female teams battling it out to win the Cup. Again we were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed a fantastic afternoon. Hope to catch another game before the 2025 season comes to an end.
