These days all the Victron products with built-in bluetooth have passwords. When you first turn on say your Victron MPPT 100|30 controller and connect to it via the VictronConnect app on your phone it will ask for the password which is six zeros (000000)
You may notice when you're in a marina or even a busy anchorage you can start to pick up other neighboring boats' devices on your own device list. If you don't want to start changing your neighbors' Victron app settings it's a good idea to change the password from 000000 to a number of your choice. This is easy to do by following the prompts.
But what happens when you forget what this password is? Maybe you got a new phone, or want to connect to your iPad aswell and you don't know the password. There is a way to reset it, but it means entering the PUK (personal unlocking key) of the device.
You can find the PUK number on the sticker on your Victron device, but chances are it's in a hard-to-reach spot and may even need you to remove it, snap a photo and re-install it. Small inconvenience, better to snap a photo before you install it and email it to yourself with a catchy subject line so you can search for it later.
Take a photo of the PUK label on your Victron device before installing it
